The review concentrates on the most important conclusions made by M.A. Clarke in
his book dedicated to liability insurance. However, the primary goal of the review is to
compare how the English scientist perceives the law and practice of liability insurance
with the approach to this field of law taken by Russian scholars and law practitioners.
